- Click the Pages tab and open the page where you wish to add the subscription form.
- Click Add Section.

- Open the Subscribe category, choose one of the layouts, and click Add Section.

Once you’ve chosen a layout, it will be inserted into the selected position on the page.

- Open the Pages tab, choose a page, and select the section that will feature the subscription form.
- Press Add in the section’s top-left corner.

- In the Add Component window, choose Subscribe Form.

- In the section’s grid area, drag and drop the component into the preferred position.

Available Settings
Once you’ve added a subscription form to a page, click on it and press the pencil (Edit) icon in the toolbar above. This will open a window, where you can edit several Email Marketing–specific settings.

General
- Groups Dropdown:
Choose which Email Marketing group(s) the form submissions will be added to. - Consent Checkbox:
Optionally display a consent checkbox for compliance purposes. If enabled, users must check it before submitting the form. You may easily add a link to your privacy policy in the consent text. - Thank You Message:
Customize the confirmation message shown after a form is submitted. If your subscribers will be added to a group with double opt-in enabled, use this message to warn them that they will need to confirm their email. - Show Header:
Enable or disable a header title text for the form. - Show Paragraph:
Enable or disable a text box in the subscription form that serves as a description.
Design
From the Design tab, you can change the appearance of the subscription form – background colors, font style, text color, corner radius, border colors and size, etc.
You can also edit separate elements, like the Input Fields and the Submit Button, by pressing their respective arrow (>) icon.

Content
In the Content tab, you can define which fields from the Email Marketing contact details are displayed in the form. By default, the form will contain the First Name, Last Name, and Email fields.
You have the option to edit a field by clicking its corresponding arrow (>) icon. This will open a new window where you can change the field type, label, and placeholder text, or make the field required.
You can also remove a field by pressing the trash bin (Delete) icon.
If you wish to add another field, use the Add Field button.

How to add custom fields
In addition to the default subscription form fields, you can also add custom fields.
To add a custom field, open the form’s settings and navigate to the Content tab, then press Add Field.

In the following window, open the Fields drop-down menu and select one of the existing fields in your Email Marketing platform. You can also change the label and placeholder text, and choose whether the field is required.

Per-Form Customization
Each subscription form is fully independent. That means:
- You can assign different groups to different forms—even on the same page.
- Consent checkboxes, thank-you messages, and name field visibility can vary per form.
This flexibility lets you tailor forms for different audiences or campaigns across your site.
Collecting Leads with the Subscribe Form
Once your subscription form is live on your website, it automatically includes built-in validation and connects directly to your SiteGround Email Marketing tool.
What Happens on Submission
When the form passes all validation checks and is submitted:
- The thank you message you configured is shown to the visitor.
- The contact is sent to your Email Marketing Contacts list with a status of Subscribed, depending on the group settings:
- If the assigned group has double opt-in enabled, the contact will first receive a confirmation email. They will be added to your list only after confirming their subscription.
- If double opt-in is not enabled, the contact is added to the list immediately.
- The contact is assigned to the group(s) selected in the form settings.
To view your collected leads:
- Log in to your Email Marketing tool.
- Go to the Contacts section > Contact list.
- New subscribers from the Website Builder will appear here with their assigned group(s), if any.

Using Groups to Identify Website Builder Leads
Groups are especially useful for organizing and filtering your audience. By assigning a unique group to each form in the Website Builder or Ecommerce, you can identify exactly which leads came from your site and precisely which form they submitted.
For example, if you assign the group “Website Builder Leads” to a form, you can easily locate and target these contacts in future campaigns.
