Table of Contents
Once you have created custom fields, you can add them to new or existing contacts in your Contacts list in Email Marketing.
How to Add Custom Fields to New Contacts
Adding Custom Fields to a Single Contact
Navigate to Contacts > Contact list, and click Add Single Contact.
Add the contact’s email, and optionally, first and last name. Then press the Add Custom Field button.

Depending on the custom field type, you can:
- Manually add text if Text is selected
- Choose from preset options if Dropdown is selected.
Adding Custom Fields While Importing Contacts
You can also add custom fields to multiple new contacts while importing them into Email Marketing. Importing is done by navigating to Contacts > Contact list > Import:
The custom fields will appear in the second step Review & Match. Here, you can assign a column from your CSV file to each custom field.

If there is no suitable CSV file column for the custom field, you can skip assigning a column to this field or use the default “Don’t import” option.
Adding Custom Fields to Existing Contacts
You can also add custom fields to an existing contact. Navigate to Contacts > Contact list and click on the email address or the Actions menu > Edit. Inside the contact’s page, press Add Custom Field.

Choose one of the existing custom fields from the Custom Field menu, and assign a value. Once ready, press Save to confirm the changes. To add more custom fields, repeat the process.
