How to Use Label in Navigation
Table of Contents
Menu labels are static elements in a website’s navigation that don’t link to other pages. They help organize the menu and improve user experience by acting as headings, placeholders, and providing direct information.
Label in Main Navigation
In the main navigation, labels serve as placeholders for organizing submenus. For instance, a label like “Services” can group related submenu items such as “Consulting,” “Training,” and “Support.” The “Services” label itself doesn’t link to a separate page but helps in categorizing submenu items for easy navigation.
To add a label to the main navigation, start by going to the Site Builder and click Customize.
Then, go to the Navigation tab and click New Item.
Next, choose Label as the Link Type and enter a name that will be visible to site visitors. Then, select Main Navigation from the Location dropdown and click Add Item.
Once the label is added, you can arrange other menu items as submenus beneath it.
Label in Footer Links
In the footer, a label can be used to provide contact information or an address. For example, a label like “Contact Us” might display static information such as “123 Main Street, Anytown, USA” or a phone number, offering quick access to essential details without redirecting users to another page.
To add a label to the footer links, navigate to the Site Builder and click Customize.
Then, go to the Navigation tab and click New Item.
Next, choose Label as the Link Type and enter a name that will be visible to site visitors. Then, select Footer links from the Location dropdown and click Add Item.
Once the label is added to the footer, it can effectively display important information, which can further be organized using submenus, ensuring visitors have easy access to key details without needing to navigate away from the page.
