SiteGround Ecommerce Service Free Trial

How to Activate a SiteGround Ecommerce Free Trial?

If you are an existing SiteGround client, you can test the SiteGround Ecommerce Service by activating a free trial from your Client Area > Marketplace > Ecommerce tab > Start Free button.

SiteGround Marketplace ‘Ecommerce’ section promoting the service with the headline ‘The Simplest Way to Sell Online.’ Below is a blue ‘Start Free’ button with text indicating no payment is required, and a preview of an online store design showing a honey product and growth statistics.

NOTE: You may create up to 10 free trial sites (both Website Builder and Ecommerce) at a time.

If you have reached this limit and you need another free trial site, you can either delete one of the existing trial sites or order a paid SiteGround Ecommerce plan.

How to Turn a Free Trial SiteGround Ecommerce Site into a Standard Publicly Accessible Ecommerce Site?

Go to Websites and click the Assign Plan button.

SiteGround Client Area ‘My Websites’ page showing a trial website with no plan assigned. The domain 'yourdomain.com' is listed with 18 days remaining on the trial, and a magnified 'Add Plan' button is highlighted next to the 'Site Admin' button.

You will be able to order a SiteGround Ecommerce plan that will allow you to use all SiteGround Ecommerce service functionalities.

What are the Free Trial SiteGround Ecommerce Site Limitations?

1. Free Trial Duration

Free Trial SiteGround Ecommerce sites can be modified for up to 1 calendar month from the activation of the SiteGround Ecommerce service free trial.

If a paid SiteGround Ecommerce plan is not assigned within this period, the site will expire and will be deleted in up to 7 days after its expiration.

Any system backups of this site that may have been created will also be deleted in up to 60 days.

2. Free Trial SiteGround Ecommerce Functionalities

While using the free trial of our Ecommerce service, you have access to all building functionalities in the backend and you can preview how the site you have built would look when published. However, the following functionality limitations apply and are removed only after you turn your free trial site into a standard SiteGround Ecommerce  site by ordering a paid SiteGround Ecommerce plan:

  • Limited Test mode for some functionalities —  you will not be able to make a full integration of some of the Еcommerce functionality that relies on external services like payment processing, tax calculation, shipping methods, email marketing integration, etc.
  • No Site Publishing – You cannot make your site publicly accessible.
  • No Custom Domains – You cannot change the domain name of your site.
  • No Email functionality – You cannot create or manage email accounts associated with your site.

3. Resource Usage Limits

Free trial sites have the following resource limits:

3.1. CPU Usage

  • 1,000 CPU cycles per hour
  • 10,000 CPU cycles per day
  • 300,000 CPU cycles per month

3.2. Storage

  • 200,000 inodes (file and folder count)
  • 10 GB disk space in total

In cases of resource overuse, your free trial Ecommerce site(s) may become dysfunctional or inaccessible. If the overuse is extreme or repeated, your site(s) may be deleted.
