How to Restore My Project to a Previous Version?

Last update: Dec 03, 2025 1 min read

Coderick AI comes with built-in code restore functionality that gives you confidence to experiment and easily undo any unexpected changes. You can safely revert to an earlier state of your project without this affecting your published version.

Here’s how it works:

Each new prompt generates a new version of your project. If you want to restore to a previous version, simply scroll to the desired version and click Restore.

Next, press Confirm to initiate the restore.

Once confirmed, the restoration process will begin. A confirmation message will appear once the process is complete.

What Will Be Restored?

A code restore will revert only the files of the selected version, without the database.

For example, you’ve created a one-page website, and later added a blog section with articles. If you restore to the first version, the blog section won’t be visible on the front page, but the blog data will still remain in the database.

If you then restore the version that includes the blog, the section will reappear and connect to the same existing data.

Preview vs Published Version

Keep in mind that what you see after a restore depends on where you view it:

  • Preview inside the interface: The restored version is immediately visible in the preview area, so you can review it before publishing/updating.
  • Published project: When your project is published and you perform a restore, the live version will not change until you update it by clicking on the Publish button.

This means you can safely experiment with restoring and testing older versions in preview mode – nothing will change publicly until you decide to publish the restored version.
