How to change the status of a page to Draft or Live

IMPORTANT! We currently have two builder versions: one for sites created before March 4, 2026, and another for sites created after this date. Sites still using the older builder will be automatically migrated to the newer version soon. If your site hasn’t been migrated yet, please refer to the Classic Builder section below.

With Website Builder and Ecommerce, you can quickly publish pages online when they are ready, or take them offline if you have to work on them privately. In this guide, you’ll learn how to change their status according to your preferences.

How to set the page status to Draft

Here is how you can unpublish a live page by changing its status to Draft:

  1. Access the Website Builder by clicking Edit Website in Site Admin.

  2. Open the Pages section from the left menu toolbar.
  3. Hover over the chosen live page and click on its Settings (kebab) menu.
  4. Select General.

  5. Open the Page Status menu and select Draft.

  6. In the following pop-up window, confirm with the Unpublish button.

How to change the page status to Live

Follow these steps to publish a draft page by changing its status to Live:

  1. Open the Pages section of the left menu toolbar in Website Builder.
  2. Hover over a draft page and click its Settings (kebab) menu.
  3. Select General.

  4. Open the Page Status menu and select Live.

  5. In the following confirmation window, press Publish.

NOTE: Newly created pages have their status set to Draft by default. You can change the Page Status back to Draft again at any time.

How to change the status of a page to Draft or Live (Classic builder)

Setting Page Status to Draft

To set a page to Draft and make it unavailable to your visitors, go to the Pages tab, hover over the page you want to set to Draft, and click the Settings (gear) button.

This will open the Page Settings where you can change the Page Status from the dropdown menu.

Note: Newly created pages have their status set to Draft by default.

Setting Page Status to Live

To set a page to Live and make it available to your visitors, go to the Content tab, hover over the page you want to set to Live, and click on the Settings (gear) button.

This will open the Page Settings where you can change the Page Status from the dropdown menu.

Note: Newly created pages have their status set to Draft by default. You can change the Page Status back to Draft again at any time.
