SiteGround for WordPress in 2018

Mar 18, 2019 Hristo Pandjarov

Our commitment to helping WordPress grow has been consistently strong throughout the years. About 80% of our 2 million domains are associated with sites built on WordPress and we have been helping more and more people get introduced to the possibilities of WordPress.

Traditionally, through sponsorships, we help a huge number of WordCamps and meetups happen all around the world. But what we consider even more important, is our personal involvement. In addition to encouraging our most talented people to attend, speak at and organize WordPress events worldwide, we also help independent experts share their expertise with an even wider audience through our WordPress Ambassador program.

Here is a brief roundup of our contribution in 2018. Stay tuned for more in 2019!

That's a lot of WordCamp talks. Stats that didn't make the cut: # of slides, tears, miles flown and driven, and cups of coffee.

I recommend SiteGround to everyone, especially due to the Wordpress support, but lately theme and site-builder makers want PHP variables like max_execution_time and _max_input_time to be increased to 180. SG defaults to 120 and refuses to allow higher on their shared hosting.

If you're hitting those limits, there's an issue with the theme or builder you're using. Elementor requires 30-60, Beaver Builder 30 and that's an upper limit for heavy operations. You shouldn't go even near 120 seconds. Please, open a ticket in your Help Desk to get additional assistance on that matter or contact your theme developers.
